Whether you’re looking for brunch to start the day, a quick coffee and cake, tasty lunch (great roasts on Sunday) or a scrumptious afternoon tea you’ll find it all at The Waterside in a stunning setting with so much to discover for all the family.
Whether you are looking for a tasty Brunch to start off the day, a great cup of morning coffee and homemade cake, a tasty light lunch or scrumptious afternoon tea or ice cream, come and enjoy it at one of the most popular eateries in The Broads.
The Waterside Rollesby takes pride in offering fresh, seasonal, local produce. A tranquil location set into the reeds right on the edge of Rollesby Broad with a bright contemporary indoor seating area and a fabulous sunny outside terrace offering stunning views whatever the season, The Waterside is about so much more than just eating and drinking. Open daily with plenty of free parking and free entry there’s something for everybody so bring the family.
The opportunity to explore the Trinity Broads is a not-to-be missed experience with seasonal trips on replica Edwardian Launch, Gentleman Jim, skippered by local Guides with a wealth of knowledge of the history and wildlife. If you want to explore at your leisure, why not hire a dinghy by the hour or half-day; you can row or if you prefer choose an electric outboard motor. There’s great fishing on the Broad in season (bring your own equipment) with rudd, bream, roach, tench and pike. Rollesby Broad is set within an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and there’s a wildlife hide set amongst the reeds with binoculars available to hire so you can spot the rich variety of iconic Norfolk wildlife. You’ll be surprised just how much wildlife lives in and around or visits the Broad – an incredible variety of birds from tiny Warblers and the beautiful Kingfisher right up to Marsh Harriers and even the occasional Osprey, plus of course many water birds with Mute Swans regularly building a nest in the reeds. The air is often buzzing with dragonflies and the “boom” of the rare Bittern can be heard in Spring. Otters are also often spotted from the boat trips.
To keep the younger members of the family amused there is a childrens’ playground with a great “pirate ship” for them to enjoy as well as a 9-hole mini putting course. There’s plenty of space for pushchairs and family seating is provided for you to keep any eye on the youngsters while you enjoy your coffee. There’s a childrens’ menu and free activity pack too.
There really is nothing to beat relaxing on our sun terrace with gentle background music, watching the world go by with the ducks occasionally letting you know they still own the Broad. It’s a fantastic way to chill out.
