Log Fire. Rose theme china. Historic building. Tranquil rose garden setting. Listed Building Re-opened in December 2010 under Holkham Estate Management.
The Rose Garden Cafe is situated at The Ancient House in Holkham Village, the oldest domestic building at Holkham.
Ideally situated close to Holkham beach, it is the perfect venue after a bracing walk to sample our homemade produce.
In the cooler months enjoy the warmth and cosy atmosphere from the roaring fire. Or as the weather warms up, you will be able to relax in the idyllic surroundings of the beautiful enclosed garden with its vibrant display of highly-scented roses.
From the decorated china to the delicious rose lemonade, the cafe has a true theme of roses. We pride ourselves in serving local produce cooked fresh every day with a menu offering light meals, fresh sandwiches, homemade soups and crusty bread, to delicious scones straight from the oven and mouth-watering homemade cakes.
The Rose Garden Cafe opened on 16 December 2010 and is managed by the Holkham Estate.

Locations
Holkham Beach
The beach at Holkham is one of the most unspoilt and beautiful stretches of sand in the country and is open 365 days of the year. Access is via Lady Anne's Drive at Holkham village, just off the A149, opposite The Victoria Hotel.
Holkham National Nature Reserve
On a coastline famous for nature reserves, Holkham is the most extensive, diverse and dramatic of these. Windswept tidelines, a maze of creeks and saltings, miles of dunes and sandspits, shady pinewoods, green pastures and marshes: the mix of habitats and the blend of wildlife unite Holkham's National Nature Reserve- a unique place, somewhere to catch your breath in a busy world.
Holkham Hall
There is much to see at Holkham Hall including a tour of the Hall itself, a walk or cycle ride round the extensive park land, a cruise on the lake (in the summer months), the Bygones Museum with its exhibition of domestic and agricultural memorabilia, allows visitors to relive memories, or learn about life in times gone by. Visit the website www.holkham.co.uk to find out more.
I went here for lunch with my daughter and a friend on Wednesday this week - what a change in a couple of years! As we walked in my daughter said "Oh no not here!" I said it had changed hands and was now run by the Holkham Estate and would be much better. We weren't disappointed. Freshly baked cakes (and what a selection to choose from!), locally sourced fabulous sausages, pasties and of course Bray Pork Pies or a choice of sandwiches or hot food to warm you up on a cold day. All our food was delicious, the staff were really friendly and it was warm inside too with bright colourful furniture. I would heartily recommend a visit after a walk on the beach (just across the road) or if you're passing by - we will be back soon.
