Owned by Kevin and Sue Gardner, The Kings Head a 17th century Inn, is situated on the banks of the River Bure in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. It has a large car park next to the picturesque village common which runs alongside the River Bure. This stretch of river has free moorings for 24 hours on a 'first come' basis, very handy if arriving on a holiday cruiser or a day hire boat.

Fine Dining

The food at the Kings Head is of the highest quality as Kevin, owner and head chef, is the only member of The Masterchefs of Great Britain in The Norfolk Broads. Dishes include such delights as:
* Locally caught Seabass with local Asparagus, Scallops and Butter Sauce
* Crispy Duck with Orange and Watercress Salad
* Grilled Calves Liver with Primo Cabbage, Smoked Bacon, Crispy Onion Rings and Red Wine Sauce.

Kevin has recently been on ITV with the cooking legend Marco Pierre White and his good friend John Kenny, winner of Britain's Best Dish, who supplies Kevin with freerange, rarebreed 'Happy Hogs' pork.

The desserts are a speciality not to be missed, all home-made, including such classics as:
* Eton Mess * Raspberry Shortcake
* Summer Pudding
* as well as a few modern dishes to include a Hot Chocolate Fondant with an Iced Chiboust Parfait which oozes a delight to all chocolate lovers!

As well as a full a la carte menu which is served daily, lunchtimes 12pm - 2pm and 6.30pm - 9pm, there is a set menu for lunch which changes daily, (some weekly regulars have been heard to say that they have never had the same dish twice) and there is also a light menu including:
* Norfolk Sausages and Mash with Crispy Onion Rings
* Beer Battered Cod and Chips
* Noodle Dishes, Home Made Burgers and a variety of Children's Dishes.

On Sundays, food is served all day, starting at 12 midday with a traditional Sunday roast. starters an desserts from the a la carte menu and a couple of meat and fish dishes also from the a la carte menu. During the afternoon, the light menu is served converting back to the full a la carte from 6.30pm onwards. To accompany your meal, a selection of lagers, local real ales and fine wines are available.

Luxury B&B

Four rooms all recently refurbished to a high standard. Two rooms have en-suite facilities including power showers over large 2-person baths. All rooms have been fitted with acoustic double glazing for noise reduction and have tea and coffee making facilities and flat screen digital TV's. Included in the price is, if desired, an English breakfast which keep even the hungriest full till supper, fresh juices and freshly ground coffee or tea.

The Kings Head is 5 minutes drive or 1hr 30 minute boat trip from Wroxham and just 20 minutes from the buzzing, historical City of Norwich. It is an ideal central village to stay to explore the hidden places of Norfolk either by foot, bicycle, and boat or by car to visit the many pretty coastal villages.
