Cross Keys

Six of us dined at the Cross Keys on Valentine's Night 2012. The dining area is small and cosy, the table was well presented and the log burner gave just the right atmosphere.

A variety of choices was selected from the special Valentine menu including vegetarian. All four courses were enjoyed with special comment on the lobster, steaks and sweets (divine, as usual!). Our veggie was very happy with her food, too. Once again, the Cross Keys provided excellent restaurant quality food in pleasant surroundings with good, attentive, service.

We all agreed that Paul and his team are doing very well: we heartily recommend the Cross Keys cuisine to all - the real ale is great, too.

Look out for more improvements to the bar area by this summer.

Good menu and fine food, reasonably priced.

Stuffed mushrooms en croute were very tasty with a lovely sauce.

The sirloin steak was medium rather than the medium rare asked for but was better quality than often found in 'pub food'. The Chips were exceptional.

Staff were very welcoming and, as it is a rather small dining area it won't be long before booking will essential.
